My mom and I always come here for lunch and get their lunch special, which is consistent and delicious. We also get tater tots on the side which is So Good, nice and crispy. Salad is delicious. Our server Alison always has great energy and remembers us. I feel like the portions are generous and prices are very reasonable. The outdoor seating is spacious and a great way to enjoy our beautiful weather down here.

Food and service are good but it's always freezing in there! I enjoy a burger on mixed greens. I miss the pesto sauce and goat cheese that used to be on the menu. Bundle up and enjoy!

I'm really not sure why this place has such a low rating. I love this place! The burgers are really fresh and well made. You can choose how you want your burgers cooked, which is pretty cool. They also offer different types of meat and not just beef. I can't recall if they had a vegan option or not. You can also choose your choice of bread, veggies, and fries. Some of the veggies cost extra (such as the mushrooms). The location is right at the corner of the mall and most of the seating is outside. It's really pleasant as there are a lot of trees for a pleasant view. The staff seems to be friendly as well. If you ever get a chance, you should check this place out!

Located in the Southmost corner of the Mercantile East Shopping Center of Ladera Ranch can find The Counter which is of the ever growing number of gourmet burger offerings. The ambience is usually pretty busy especially during game days as people will be setting up shop both inside and the even larger outside patio area. The service is better dining in than taking out as the former was solid but the latter was waiting around for a long while waiting for someone to actually come up and assist and even then there was a general confusion as how best to locate the order. As for the food the tater tots could use more seasoning but had a nice crunch, the sweet potato fries were better, and the custom burger was properly cooked and the ingredients/condiments were all fresh and made for a well balanced and assembled item. Price point is about on par with the competition but if they can find a more efficient way of handling the takeout aspect would be a more appealing option.

We love this place for its excellent service and food. Building a burger is so much fun as there are so many yummy options that you select from a check sheet. The patio area has cozy seating and screens to watch your favorite game. Try their happy hour, and trust me, you will be back again.
